In its commitment to uplifting Scheduled Caste (SC) students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department of the Government of Maharashtra has introduced the Maharshi Viththal Ramaji Shinde Scholarship. This scholarship program aims to financially support SC students pursuing their education from Classes 1 to 10 in government, government-aided, or private non-aided schools across Maharashtra.
Who Can Apply?
The Maharshi Viththal Ramaji Shinde Scholarship is open to students belonging to the Scheduled Caste community who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Class: Studying in Classes 1 to 10 in government, government-aided, or private non-aided schools in Maharashtra.
- Caste: Belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) community.
- Economic Background: Must come from a Below Poverty Line (BPL) category family.
- Academic Performance: Must have passed all subjects in the previous academic year.
Important Note:
- Students must have secured a pass in the previous year’s exams to be eligible for the scholarship.
- A minimum attendance of 60% in the current academic year is mandatory to receive the scholarship’s second installment.
- The scholarship is applicable to students from all boards except those enrolled in self-financing schools.
Benefits of the Scholarship
The Maharshi Viththal Ramaji Shinde Scholarship offers significant financial aid to eligible students. The scholarship amount varies depending on the class a student is enrolled in, as detailed in the table below:

Note: The scholarship is disbursed for a maximum duration of 10 months. If a student’s attendance is less than 10 months, the scholarship amount will be calculated based on the number of months they were enrolled, starting from their admission date.

How to Apply
The application process for the Maharshi Viththal Ramaji Shinde Scholarship is entirely online. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate the application process:
- Visit the Aaple Sarkar DBT Portal (link to be provided).
- Click on the “Apply Now” button.
- If you are a new user, click on the “Register” button and fill in the required registration details. Existing users can log in using their Gmail ID, mobile number, or email ID.
- On the dashboard, navigate to the “New Applicant Registration” section on the right-hand side and click on it.
- Fill out the complete application form, verify your email address and phone number, enter the captcha code, and click on “Register.”
- After successful registration, log in to the portal using your username and password.
- Fill in the remaining application details, upload the necessary documents, and submit the application form.

Selection Criteria
